British Science Week
Whitley Bay Big Local Invite you to Participate in British Science Week (5th – 14th March, 2021)
Science is everywhere. Whether we are cooking in the kitchen, planting in the garden or going for a walk, science is around us and is important to us all. This British Science Week (5th to 14th March 2021), Whitley Bay Big Local and Cullercoats Collective are getting involved.
Whitley Bay Big local have gathered some local people who wish to share their skills and knowledge and we are collating a timetable full of online activities suitable for all ages. We want to inspire everyone to explore aspects of science.
You can join in our activities or develop your own. Babies and toddlers may like to explore bubbles or cornflour and water, families may join in with weekend activities or ‘Science with Neil’ at 2pm on weekdays, and there will be a multitude of activity ideas and useful website to explore.
For older children and adults we will have input about wind turbines, Fibonacci, RNLI, ecology of the coastline and more. We will also link to BBC podcasts.
How can we prepare?
