Join us Cullercoats Watch House on Sunday 30th October 2022 4pm – 6pm

Please bring spades and spooky sandcastle skills, creatively carved pumpkin and frightening fancydress (optional). If you would like to enter your pumpkin to our competition please fill in the form below.

    Welcome to Cullercoats pumpkin competition!! Thank you for taking part. There are three categories to enter (Under 18, 18+, Buisness) and a variety of prizes - If you would like to help out by dontating a prize please let us know by hitting the 'I have a Prize' button below.

    If you are wanting to take part in the competition please fill in this form to let us know you are bringing your carved creation down. Once you have completed this form we will get in touch with you with an entry number for your pumpkin and other instructions you will need for the day.

    We can’t wait to see all your creepy carved creations!

    The pumpkins will be lit for the community to see at sundown.

      Cullercoats Green Spaces

      Cullercoats Collective: Our Green Spaces are just as important as our Blue!

      We’ve had a lot of interest from our Community Engagement for Cullercoats Collective to look into our Green Spaces, as part of Cullercoats’ Eco and Environment aspect and our Pride of Place strategy arms.

      Cullercoats has a lot of great areas of interest: from the dunes and areas around the slopes leading onto Cullercoats Bay full of weeds and rubbish, to neglected planters outside of estates such as John street and Cullercoats Metro Station.

      Cullercoats Collective can help facilitate willing volunteers and make these ideas a reality.

      • To show pride of place for our Green Spaces by seeking opportunities to fund community gardening projects, facilitate and co-ordinate volunteers who are willing to adopt certain previously neglected areas, and host a series of 'community gardening' based events (e..g Cullercoats in Bloom, Competitions, 'adopt a planter').
        To promote sustainability by hosting demonstrations and talks to suit anybody in Cullercoats "whatever-the-size" of available space.

        Kick Off meeting May 2021 to launch gardening and sustainability projects late-May 2021
      • Cullercoats Collective can link up a network of volunteers (named Cullercoats Ambassadors) who are willing to tidy up, weed, plant in certain designated areas with available funding opportunities and equipment loans/donations, as well as liaise with responsible bodies (e.g. North Tyneside council, local housing, etc) to all show Pride of Place.

      Updates

      We are planning a meeting via zoom with those who expressed interest into community gardening on Wednesday 5 May 2021 6pm. If you would like to attend this meeting, then please get in touch with us at environment[@]cullercoatscollective.co.uk and we can send you the meeting link.

      Promoting, Participating and Supporting Pre-Existing Events​

      • To promote, participate and support already established events taking place in Cullercoats.
      • Ongoing
      • Throughout the year we want to promote all the great events that take place in Cullercoats to as big an audience as possible. If oppurtunities arise to support events in other ways or to take part in them in some way we will explore these.

      Harbour Day

      Aim: To provide a Cullercoats Collective presence at Harbour Day that highlights our aims within the community in the coming years. To recruit more volunteers to support our aims.

      Timeline: Summer 2021 (hopefully!)

      Iron Fest

      Aim: As above

      Events Further afield: Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and beyond

      Aim: To represent Cullercoats and provide a Cullercoats Collective presence at events within our wider coastal community to put on a “united front” as the Geordie Riviera, “swap notes” and educate other coastal communities on our successes and lessons learned from Cullercoats Collective.
